City Guide
How to get from A to B — and how long it takes. Every place in the City Guide shows its drive, walk and bus time from you or from the Prophet’s Mosque.

City buses link the central area with Quba, Uhud and the main districts.

Licensed taxis and ride-hailing apps work across the city and at the airport.

The central plazas are pedestrian, and a walkway leads from the centre to Quba.

Best on the walkways and in the parks, early in the morning.

Car parks surround the central area; they fill up before Friday prayer and in Ramadan.

Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport (MED) is about 15 km north-east of the Prophet’s Mosque.

The Haramain High Speed Railway links Madinah with Makkah in about two hours, stopping at Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City.

Step-free routes in the plazas, wheelchair help at the central area and accessible buses on main routes.
