The last station of the Hejaz Railway
Madinah was the end of the line from Damascus. The station is now a museum.

The Hejaz Railway reached Madinah in 1908, cutting a journey of weeks from Damascus to a few days. The city was its southern terminus.
Service stopped within a decade, during the First World War. The stone station in Al-Anbariyah has been restored and now holds a museum of the line.
